Luanda - Luanda's Petro Atlético club has announced the signing of the Portuguese Ricardo Chéu as new coach of the team for a one year term, with an option to extend it, ANGOP has learnt.
This comes after the club announced on Friday the departure of the former coach of the team Alexandre Santos, who in three years won three titles.
The 43-year-old coach, who by the time of his signing led Oliveira de Azeméis club since December, has now taken on the challenge of maintaining Petro de Luanda's dominance at Girabola that now accounts for 18 trophies.
This will be Chéu's first experience outside Europe.
In Portugal, besides Oliveirense, he led Académico de Viseu, Penafiel, Freamunde, União da Madeira, Estrela da Amadora and Vilafranquense, Rieti (Italy), Senica and Spartak Trnava (both in Slovakia) and DOXA (Cyprus).
