Menongue - Naturopath Costa Katende Baptista on Sunday advised citizens to abstain from excessive consumption of biostatic foods, given their influence on the increase in cancer and heart-related diseases.
Costa Katende Baptista gave this advice while giving a lecture on "How to discover the real causes of disease", emphasizing that biostatic food, which are generally preserved by cold or heat and rely heavily on chemical additives, such as processed meats, milk and it’s by products, shorten their life cycle.
He pointed out that there are cases in which the loss of nutrients and the vitality of food begins in the very fields of production, storage, transport and preparation, and that ingesting them can overload digestion and assimilation.
"Biostatic foods putrefy more easily and more intensely, weaken the body, cause intoxication and block the body's natural cleansing and purification mechanisms, promote toxins and tumors, and can even lead to death, so we must be very careful when choosing what to eat," he stressed.
Held in the auditorium of the Menongue municipal administration, and attended by more than 100 people, including traditional authorities, representatives of the defense and security agencies, specialists in natural medicine, among other guests, the lecture aimed to raise awareness among citizens about good eating habits in the prevention and cure of diseases.
