Malanje - More than 200 believers of the United Methodist Church based in the provinces of Malanje, Moxico, Bié, Lunda Norte and Lunda Sul have been in northern Malanje Province since Wednesday to attend the 31st Annual Conference of the East Region of Angola.
Running under the motto “With faith and hope, we exercise forgiveness”, the event will also serve to elect the successor of Bishop José Kipungo, as well as the delegates to the general conference scheduled for the year 2024, to take place in the United States of America (USA) and it will also balance the activities carried out by the church during the 2022/2023 period.
Speaking at the opening of the meeting, the Bishop of the Church, José Kipungo, said that the congregation will continue working with the Angolan government in the improvement of the living conditions of the population.
During the five-day meeting, the participants in the event will discuss, among other issues, the reports of the Annual Conference of the East Region and plan the strategies for the development of the church in the region.
