Cabinda – The Provincial Health authorities of Cabinda plan to immunize 138,598 children, from zero to five years of age, against polio, during the 1st phase of the vaccination campaign, taking place from the 17th to the 19th of this month across the country.
The information was provided to the press Yesterday by the head of the Department of Public Health and Endemic Disease Control, Gabriel Zau.
For this purpose, 310 teams were trained, with more than a thousand people, including health technicians, vaccinators and drivers.
Gabriel Zau guaranteed that the campaign will count on the collaboration of personnel from the Angolan Armed Forces, National Police, as well as traditional and religious authorities.
He said that in total, more than 100 thousand doses were made available to cover the entire territorial extension of the province of Cabinda.
During the door-to-door vaccination campaign, according to the doctor, the new Monovalent N-OPV2 oral vaccine will be managed.
