Luanda - The Angolan Government has so far been officially notified of the return of four national citizens who reside illegally in the United States of America (USA), the Secretary of State for International Cooperation and Angolan Communities Domingos Vieira Lopes said in Luanda.
He was speaking on Angola National Radio station (RNA), to clarify that deportation processes, as a general rule, follow well-defined criteria and whenever this occurs, the embassy to which the citizen belongs is notified regarding the process.
“Because, normally, in these processes we issue information through the embassy to the Ministry and the latter naturally, it contacts related bodies in the country, in the case of the Migration and Foreigners Service”, explained Domingos Vieira Lopes.
The Secretary of State said, on the other hand, that a plane cannot arrive in Angola without authorization for that purpose, referring to the alleged return, in recent days, of several Angolans deported from the USA.
The government official said that, even if the number was what was published on social media (600), it would first be checked whether the aforementioned citizens are, in fact, Angolans. ASS/MRA/DOJ
