Luanda - The state of bilateral cooperation between Angola and Kenya dominated a working meeting between the heads of diplomacy of the two countries on Sunday night in Luanda, according to a note to which ANGOP had access.
The meeting between the Angolan Minister of Foreign Affairs, Téte António, and the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kenya, Wycliffe Mudavadi, took place on the sidelines of the 18th ordinary session of the Interministerial Committee of the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region (ICGLR).
The occasion served for the two entities to review the level of bilateral cooperation between the two countries, and also to examine regional and multilateral issues.
On regional issues, the parties addressed the situation in the eastern part of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and the conflicts in Somalia, Sudan and across Africa.
The two personalities also discussed the main areas of cooperation established between the two countries and other mechanisms aimed at intensifying their partnerships, thus contributing to the socio-economic development of the two countries, as well as to the strengthening of regional integration on the African continent.
Bilateral cooperation between Angola and Kenya has been strengthened in recent years, focusing on areas such as Economy, Trade, Agriculture, Tourism, Education, Technology and Energy, Security and Defence, among others.
The two countries have historical ties and share common interests in sustainable development and regional stability, particularly within the framework of the African Union (AU)
