Luanda - The Angolan ambassador to Brazil, Manuel Eduardo Bravo, was received in audience by the Vice President of this country, Geraldo Alckmin, with whom he discussed aspects related to the mechanisms and modalities for granting Brazilian financing to Angola.
According to a note to which ANGOP had access, the meeting also reviewed the dynamics of bilateral cooperation, as well as the expansion and revitalization of trade relations between the two countries.
Likewise, the good prospects for its intensification were also discussed, in areas such as agriculture, health, industry, defense, culture and higher education.
On the occasion, Vice-President Geraldo Alckmin, who also holds the position of Minister of Development, Industry, Commerce and Services, expressed his intention to visit Angola in 2025, and is expected to be accompanied by an economic and business delegation.
The two countries established diplomatic relations in November 1975, with the Federative Republic of Brazil being the first country to recognise Angola's independence.
In 1980, the General Agreement on Economic, Technical-Scientific and Cultural Cooperation was signed, which constitutes the fundamental basis for the development of cooperation between the two States.
Bilateral relations between the two countries became more dynamic during the first term of President Luís Inácio Lula da Silva, with the two governments signing the Strategic Partnership Agreement in June 2010. SC/TED/DOJ
