Luanda- President of the Republic of Botswana Mokgweetsi Masisi said Monday in Luanda that his visit to Angola created bases to reinforce the cooperation relations
At the end of the 48-hour visit, during which he met with the Angolan counterpart, João Lourenço, Mokgweetsi Masisi said that they discussed the exchange in the areas of tourism, education, culture, geology and mines, with emphasis on the diamond.
"Our cooperation comes out of here stronger and it will be up to the heads of diplomacy in both countries to work on the planned actions", stressed President Mokgweetsi Masisi.
He added that the visit also served to address issues related to research, innovation and combating Covid-19.
According to the Tswanese Head of State, Angola wants to exchange the experience of Botswana in the production of animal vaccine and to raise this scientific research to produce a human vaccine.
He pointed out the possibility for the parties to cooperate in the fields of mapping and exploration, in the geological sector.

Mokgweetsi Masisi left the Angolan capital, where he undertook an official visit at the invitation of the Angolan Head of State, João Lourenço.
On the sidelines of the meeting between the two Statesmen, ministerial delegations from Angola and Botswana addressed, among others, cooperation in the diamond, education, health and environmental sectors.
Like Angola, Botswana is a member of the Southern African Development Community (SADC), a regional integration organisation made up of 16 Member States.
Political-diplomatic relations between Angola and Botswana date back to 18 February 1976.
In February 2006, the two countries signed a General Cooperation Agreement.
