Luena - A work on anthropology and magnitude of the Angolan traditional authorities by Portuguese photographer Manuel Correia will be compiled into a book and portrait photography for exhibition this year in the United States (US), Europe and Brazil.
The compilation process of the work started in 2015 in the northern province of Bengo and is expected to reach eastern Moxico province by the end of the year (2022). after having been held in 17 other provinces of the country.
Postponed in 2020 and 2021, due to Covid-19, the release of the work is being conducted in photographic exhibitions in museums and streets of New York (US), Lisbon (Portugal), London (England), Berlin (Germany), Paris (France) and Sao Paulo (Brazil).
A 30-year career photographer, Manuel Correia, told the press that the work has helped traditional authorities to retrieve their habits and customs as well as the way of the organisation, in order to draw attention of the tourists to the tradition of the African people and in particular of Angolans.
Manuel Correia has released seven books and is co-author of 20 other manuals.
