Cuito – The Secretary of State for Higher Education, Eugénio Adolfo Alves da Silva, on Friday worked in the city of Cuito, Bié province, as part of an inspection and supervision visit to the academic institutions Angola’s south region.
After a meeting with the Governor of Bié, Pereira Alfredo, the Secretary of State went to the International University of Cuanza (UNIC) and promised the approval of six new courses by June this year in response to a request from this institution.
Telecommunications engineering, mining, food technology, agriculture, psychology and primary education teaching are the course waiting for approval.
Eugénio Adolfo Alves da Silva also visited the local Higher Pedagogical School of Bié and the future installations of the Private Higher Institute Mualaka, in the commune of Cunje.
The province of Bié has five higher education institutions, being three private and two public, which together have about 10,000 students in the various courses.
