Luanda – The payment of fiscal obligations generate contributions for the implementation of projects aimed at social welfare, informed Wednesday in Luanda Province, the General Tax Administration (AGT) Director, Leonildo Manuel.
Speaking at a press conference on the launch of the campaign to pay Property Tax (IP) and Motor Vehicle Tax (IVM), he defended raising awareness among the population regarding the need for greater tax awareness, since the revenue collected goes towards programmes with the aim of improving people's living standards.
He added that taxes are the guarantees for the implementation of public policies for the good of communities.
"When a citizen pays property tax, this revenue goes to that locality, hence the need for citizens to fulfil their obligations," he stressed.
Voluntary payment of Property Tax and Motor Vehicle Tax began on the 2nd of the current month, throughout the country, at the various offices of the General Tax Administration (AGT).
All motorised vehicles, whether exempt or not, must be registered. For non-exempt vehicles, the tax must be paid regardless of whether or not the vehicle is in circulation.
