Luanda - The National Reserve Bank of Angola (BNA) in partnership with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) are due to present on December 28 the report on regional economic outlook of Sub-Saharan Africa, with the theme "Living on the Threshold", the BNA said in a statement, ANGOP has learnt.
The statement adds that the bi-annual report published from April to October of each year, is produced by the IMF staff and presents the projections and the economic evolution in the Sub-Saharan region.
The reports focus on issues such as, "Strengthening food security in Sub-Saharan Africa", an approach that responds to the food security crisis, in addition to recommending policies to improve resilience in the context of climate change.
The report also brings up issues related to tackling rising inflation in sub-Saharan Africa, seeking analysis of the main causers of inflation across the region, as well as discussing elements that can adequately respond to monetary policy.
Another theme contained in the report is "Managing Oil Price Uncertainty and the Energy Transition".
There is also a look at export price volatility and policies for oil exporters that promote a global transition away from fossil fuels.
The "Digital Currency Innovations in Sub-Saharan Africa", another highlight topic, describes recent developments in this rapidly changing area, and addresses the costs and benefits of various instruments currently being contemplated by authorities in the region, with an emphasis on mobile money, central bank digital currencies, and cryptocurrencies.
The meeting will be attended by representatives of the Executive, members of the Board of Directors and Governing Body of the BNA and the IMF, among others.
