Luanda - The Luanda Passenger Bus Terminal is to be privatized, with the aim of improving its offer and supporting urban and inter-provincial transportation, the National Land Transport Agency (ANTT) has said in a statement.
The management, maintenance and operation of this infrastructure has been awarded to the private company MD Freitas e Filhos, following a public tender launched in November 2023 for the operation, management and maintenance of the Luanda, Huambo and Cuanza-Norte Passenger Bus Terminals, the statement said.
It clarifies that procedures are underway to sign other contracts for the Huambo and Cuanza-Norte terminals for its management and operation.
The tender transfers the operation, management and maintenance of the three passenger bus terminals for a period of ten years, in order to guarantee the efficient operation of the infrastructures.
ANTT CEO, Énio Costa, said he expects the new management of the Luanda terminal will contribute to the full operation of the inter-provincial transport service.ACC/ASS/TED/AMP
