Istanbul - The National Football Team for amputees beat this Sunday Iraq team by 4-1, and qualified for the round 16 of the World Cup, which is taking place in Turkey.

After beating Uruguay 4-0 in the first round of group F, this afternoon´s win places Angola in the first position with six points, the same as Italy who are in second place.

The Italians beat Iraq 2-0 in the debut and today they beat Uruguay 2-1 qualifying as well for the next round.

Angola and Italy will face each other other on Monday, from 13h30 (11h30 in Angola), for the third and final round of the initial phase, in a match whose importance is only based on finding the first place in the group.

The goals against Iraq were scored by José Candeeiro, twice. Celestino Elias scored the fourth, but before that, the opponent scored in their own goal.

The striker José Candeeiro is the top scorer of the national team, with four goals, having scored twice in both matches.

The national technical team, led by Augusto Cheto, decided to put almost all the athletes to play. In two matches, only goalkeepers Jesus Mateus and Lilito Augusto have not yet played.

The striker Sabino António, who is a veteran of the national team, was lined up in the second half this Sunday, after having remained on the replacement´s bench the day before.

This first phase of the championship is being held at the sports complex of the Turkish Football Federation.

The top two teams from each of the six groups plus the four best third-placed teams qualify for the round of sixteen.
