Luanda - Angola national basketball team face Rwanda Thursday in Luanda in the quarter-finals of the AFROCAN'2023, two years later after the two teams faced off.
To progress to the quarterfinals of the competition reserved for players that play at African domestic championships, Rwanda beat Mozambique 73-62,while Angola qualified directly for this phase after finishing in the first place of the Group B with 4 points.
Angola and Rwanda's last encounter was in August 2021 in the Afrobasket group stage in Kigali, where Rwanda beat 71-68.
In other matches played Wednesday Morocco beat Cameroon 78-50 and Nigeria defeated Gabon 71-55.
At least 12 national teams are competing in the second edition of the AFROCAN.
The Democratic Republic of Congo won the competition in 2019 in Bamako, while Angola finished in the third position. WR/VAB/amp/jmc
