Luanda – The Angolan Association of Information and Communication Technology (APETIC) paid tribute, on Tuesday night in Luanda, to several Angolan personalities for their contribution to the technological development of the country.
Among those honoured are the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, the Vice-President Bornito de Sousa, and the Speaker of the National Assembly, Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos.
The list also includes university professors Pedro Teta and João Teta and engineer Rui Santos.
The state-owned Angola Press Agency (ANGOP-EP), RNA radio and TPA television also deserved recognition for the promotion, dissemination and use of information and communication technologies. The list of honorees, from a total of 28 personalities and institutions, is completed by NCR IT firm, Óscar Ribas University and Unitel phone company.
In this way, the organizers sought to highlight the contribution, involvement and commitment of the honorees in the development of new technologies. This is the first tribute gala organized by APETIC, since its foundation in 2020.
The person in charge of APETIC, João Cazola, stated that, in this way, an attempt was made to make a contribution to the creation of conditions for the growth of the information and communication technology sector in the country.
