Cuito – The provincial governor of Bié, Celeste Adolfo, on Monday in the municipality of Cuito, considered to be positive the investment made by the Angola Press Agency – ANGOP E.P, due to the modernizations that have improved the company's contribution to providing a quality public service.
Speaking during a brief meeting with the workers of the agency´s delegation in the province, in the scope of her first visit to media outlets with the aim to be aware of the way they operate, Celeste Adolfo encouraged the professionals to continue with the mission of informing, training and entertaining, above all contributing to a change of conduct.
During the visit, Celeste Adolfo, visited the institution's facilities and received explanations from the acting delegate, Bartolomeu Nascimento, about the functioning of the only news agency in the country, difficulties and challenges that journalists face in their mission to inform and educate the public.
In brief considerations, after the consultation, the governor, considered to be positive the work that has been developed by ANGOP and encouraged professionals to maintain rigor, determination and responsibility in informing the public.
He also promised to work with public managers to improve access to information sources for journalists.
The vice-governor for the technical and infrastructure sector Edgar Hilário, the vice-governor for the political, economic and social sector Alcida de Jesus Sandumbo, as well as members of the government, made up the governor's delegation.
In addition to ANGOP, governor Celeste Adolfo also visited the Media Office, Angola National Radio Station (RNA), Angola Public Television (TPA), Edições Novembro publishing house and Cuquema Private Radio, having assured that the Government is open and supportive of journalistic activity.
