Cacuaco – The National Police and other security forces detained a South African citizen at the '4 de Fevereiro' international airport in Luanda for allegedly being involved in drug trafficking.
According to the spokesperson for the Criminal Investigation Service (SIC), Manuel Halaiwa, who was speaking to the press this Monday, the arrest took place last Saturday, when the alleged drug trafficker, aged 26, was a passenger in transit to the city of Maputo (Mozambique), coming from Brazil, was carrying a suitcase with more than 10 kilos of cocaine.
After several investigations, Manuel Halaiwa said that it was determined that the merchandise was the property of a democratic Congolese citizen, who expected to see his business “closed” and would reward the young South African with 20 thousand rands (equivalent to 954 thousand 601 kwanzas and 61 cents).
The investigation specialist reinforced that the SIC will continue to work on this case, in coordination with Interpol, in order to arrest the alleged masterminds.
