Luanda - The health authorities announced on Friday the vaccination against Covid-19 of 456,349 citizens since the beginning of the process in March, 2021.
According to the Secretary of State for Public Health, Franco Mufinda, who announced the data, 12,065 citizens were vaccinated this Friday in the country.
The Government plans, in May, to start the administration of the second dose to those already vaccinated, and later on, to attend the group of citizens over 40 years old.
Still for the month of May, the country expects to receive another batch of 20 million doses of vaccines against Covid-19 from Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer and Sputnik.
This is a batch of 12 million doses of the Sputnik vaccine, to immunise six million people, over four million from Johnson & Johnson and over one million from Pfizer.
The vaccine roll out, which began on 2 March, in a first phase, covers health professionals, teachers at all levels of education, the elderly over 65 years old, employees of the Defence and Security bodies, patients with drepanocytosis and chronic kidney failure over 18 years of age.
