Mbanza-Kongo – Eight cases of violations of the border perimeter with the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) were registered, in the last 24 hours, by the Border Police (PGF) in the northern province of Zaire.
In a note to which ANGOP had access, the corporation informs that of this number of incidents, five involved DRC citizens (border violation), two were due to fuel smuggling and one related to smuggling.
The document adds that following these border infractions, 16 DRC citizens were detained, two of which were sent to the local directorate of the Migration and Foreigners Service (SME) for legal procedures and six were repatriated.
The province of Zaire shares a 310 km border with the DR Congo.
