Luanda - Angolan referee Jerson Emiliano dos Santos has been appointed assistant for the Club World Cup, which will take place from June 14 to July 13 in the United States of America (USA).
The competition, which will involve 32 teams in a new format, will have a total of 117 referees from 48 countries (13 of which are African) and 58 assistants, which includes the experienced Angolan Jerson Emiliano dos Santos, from the province of Huíla.
He has already refereed, among others, at the World Cup in Russia in 2018, Qatar in 2022 and the Under-17 in Chile (2015) and Under-20 in South Korea.
In addition to the African competitions, where he became prominent before reaching the world, Jerson Emiliano also officiated in the Paris'2024 Olympic Games, once again placing Angola's name on the international stage.
