Luanda - The Vice-President of the Republic, Esperança da Costa, highlighted on Friday, in Luanda, the serenity and firmness of the Angolan Head of State, João Lourenço, aiming to promote good governance, rigor and transparency in public acts .
Esperança da Costa made these statements during the ceremony to present year-end greetings to the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, which was attended by members of the Executive, Legislative and Judiciary, among other entities of Angolan society.
He added that this position taken by the President of the Republic also aimed to fight corruption and impunity, in addition to adopting measures aimed at diversifying the economy, moralizing society, strengthening diplomacy and projecting a new image of Angola in the world, with the firm purpose to lead the country towards sustainable development.
According to Esperança da Costa, at a time when humanity finds itself challenged by uncertainty and adversity, we must reflect on the challenges overcome and the achievements achieved, always with the honorable commitment to serving the people.
“The year 2024 once again demands from your excellency the adoption of courageous and structural measures in the economic field, the business environment and the social sector”, he argued.
Still addressing the Statesman, he highlighted that “history has placed in your hands the responsibility of inaugurating a new cycle of our collective life, which begins with the celebration of 50 years of our existence as an Independent Nation”.
Referring to President João Lourenço's recent end-of-year message, he said that 'the Angolan people received with deep joy the call to renew hope and strengthen ties among all Angolans, as well as strengthening peace and unity national'. SC/DOJ
