Luanda – Al Ittihad from Alexandria, Egypt and River Hoppers from Nigeria are the first two teams to qualify for the play-offs of the final phase of the Basketball Africa League (BAL), taking place in Pretoria from June 6 to 14.
The Egyptian team was undefeated at the 2025 Kalahari Conference that ended on Sunday (13) in Rabat (Morocco), winning all 6 games and finishing top with 12 points.
In second place was River Hoppers from Nigeria, who won 4 games and lost 2, a result that places them at the competition's final stage.
The hosts FUS Rabat, meanwhile, finished in 3rd place with 2 wins and 4 losses. In 4th and last place was Stade Malien from Mali, who suffered 6 losses.
The 2025 BAL Sahara Conference, which will feature defending champions Petro de Luanda, will take place in Dakar (Senegal) from April 26 to May 4, in a group that will include Kriol Basket (Cape Verde), Monastir (Tunisia) and As Ville (Senegal).
The 2025 BAL Nile Conference, which will take place in Kigali from May 17 to 25, will bring together the teams Al Ahly (Tripoli), APR (Rwanda), Made By Basketball (South Africa) and Nairobi City Thunder (Kenya).
