Lubango - At least 132 exhibitors, including entrepreneurs, institutions, associations and cooperatives are registered for the 1st fair of the Program to Support Production, Diversification of Exports and Import Substitution (PRODESI), to be held from April 25 to May 2, in Lubango, Angola’s southern province of Huíla.
The fair, part of the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of National Independence, is a strategic event that aims to promote the economic, social and cultural development of the province, integrating all key sectors and will take place under the motto 'Transforming Youth into an Engine of Development'.
The event is promoted by the Government of Huíla, through the Provincial Office for Integrated Economic Development and seeks to strengthen intersectoral cooperation, foster business opportunities and highlight the advances achieved in recent years.
On the subject, speaking to ANGOP on Saturday, the director of the Provincial Office for Integrated Economic Development, Domingos Kalumana said that Huíla, with its agricultural, tourism, industrial and human potential, requires an integrated platform to expose its capacities and attract investments.
The fair, according to the source, will promote local products and services, increase production and economic transactions, stimulate youth entrepreneurship, strengthen networks between the Government, the private sector and civil society, connect operators to business opportunities, as well as present the main results of PRODESI in Huíla.
It declared it to be an event whose main sectors are food and agro-industry, mineral resources, forestry, textiles, clothing and footwear, construction and public works, information technologies and telecommunications, health, education, training and scientific research, tourism, culture, sports and leisure.
Domingos Kalumana pointed out that during the eight days, in addition to the exhibition of products and services, two panels are planned at a round table, namely, 'Measures and Policies to Accelerate the Training of Human Capital and the Tourism Sector with Youth Inclusion' and 'Notices 09 and 10 of the BNA and other financial instructions'.
He made informed that in addition to the aforementioned program, the event also reserves cultural activities and radio programs.
