Oslo – Angolan president João Lourenço arrived Wednesday in Oslo, Norway, for a state visit, Thursday and Friday, as part of the reinforcement of existing cooperation between the two countries.
Upon arrival at Gardermoen airport, in Oslo, the Angolan statesman, accompanied by the first lady Ana Dias Lourenço, received welcome greetings from the chief of protocol of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Norway, Tone Allers, among other entities.
President João Lourenço's visiting programme starts on Thursday (17th) with participation in a business forum, where he is expected to speak to Norwegian businessmen who intend to invest in Angola in sectors such as Energy, Fisheries and Infrastructure.
On the same day (Thursday), the Angolan statesman is expected to grant audiences to leaders of companies interested in investing in Angola.
Also on Thursday, the Angolan Head of State will meet with the Speaker of the Norwegian Parliament, Masud Gharhakhani, and visit the oil company Equinor (formerly Statoil) and Aker Solutions.
Equinor has the largest volume of business with Angola. The company is responsible for 10 percent of oil production on Angolan soil.
Aker Solutions is a company dedicated to technological solutions for the mineral resources, oil and gas industry.
On Friday (18), the last day of the visit, President João Lourenço will hold separate meetings with the Norwegian Prime Minister, Jonas Gahr Store, and with King Harald.
On the same day, the Angolan Head of State has scheduled a visit to the Fram museum, Bygdoynesveien 39.
