Luanda - The Head of State, João Lourenço, expressed on Monday his deepest sympathy for the death of 120 people, after a football match in Kanjuruhan stadium, in the east of Java island in Indonesia.
The tragedy which also caused several injuries, occurred Saturday (1) in Malang landlocked City, Indonesia. Among the deaths of the disaster 32 were children.
In a message to the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, the Angolan Head of State considered the tragedy “an immemorial day for world football history”.
Due to that, the Angolan statesman “expresses his deepest condolences to the Indonesian people and especially to bereaved families”.
The disaster occurred when the security forces used tear gas into the crowded stadium which resulted in a major riot.
