Luanda - Angolan president João Lourenço on Sunday paid tribute to the former minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Gilberto Buta Lutucuta, who died Friday (18) in Luanda at the age of 80, victim of illness.
João Lourenço, who was accompanied by the First Lady, Ana Dias Lourenço, bowed before the casket that contained the remains of the late leader and conveyed feelings of condolence to the bereaved family.
Also paid tribute to Gilberto Lutucuta, the National Assembly Speaker Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos, MPs, Government officials, representatives of political parties and civil society.
His daughter, Sílvia Lutucuta, stressed the role of Gilberto Buta Lutucuta in the family.
As father, Buta Lutucuta, who left suddenly and prematurely, despite his 80 year of age, always did his best for his children and family, stressed Sílvia Lutucuta, who is also the country’s Health minister.
She said that her father always defended that "all people are special and that, regardless of their character, they deserve respect and consideration". “It was worth making sacrifices to create more capable and stronger generations to come", she noted.
