Washington - Angolan head of State João Lourenço on Tuesday in Washington, United State, called for reforms in the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).
Speaking at the Eximbank Annual Meeting, as part of the US-Africa Leaders Summit, the Head of State said it was time for Africa to be represented at this UN decision-making forum.
"We are calling not only for presence at the G20, but for the reform of the UN Security Council, where Africa is not represented to resolve global issues," he said.
João Lourenço appealed to the competent bodies to take a serious view of the need to reform the UN Security Council.
According to the Angolan statesman, it was a matter of justice that Africa should also be part of the G20.
He also said that Africa should be part of the G20. "We count on world economy and our contribution can help solve the problems of the energy and food crisis," he said.
On the economic issue, he said that Africa may be the destination of many North American companies, especially those interested in investing in solar energy.
According to the President, investments in that field are very welcome in Africa.
On the food crisis, he said that Africa has great potential for agricultural production, especially water and climate.
