Luanda - The National Police (PN) will secure public order and security during the inauguration ceremony of the President and Vice-President of Angola on Saturday, 15, in Luanda, the spokesperson of the Command Post for the 2022 Elections Security Deployment, Commissioner Orlando Bernardo, said Friday.
The police chief added that more than 80,000 officers of the National Police are still mobilized, having called on citizens to refrain from acts that disturb public order and security.
The police commissioner, who was speaking during a press conference that served to present the asessmment of the police work throughout the electoral process, said at least 165 people have been arrested in the last 15 days.
The police chief called for the need for promoters of demonstrations to comply with the law, since demonstrations that attack sovereign bodies are not allowed.
Commissioner Orlando Bernardo also expressed the National Police availability to collaborate with the promoters of potential demonstrations, as long as they are authorized under the Constitution and the Law.
