Luanda - Foreign minister Téte António participates on Tuesday, in New York (USA), in the High-Level Meeting of the United Nations Security Council on Counterterrorism in Africa.
A press release reveals that the minister is in New York since Monday, to fulfil a two-day work schedule to be held at the headquarters of the United Nations (UN).
It states that the event organized by Algeria, is part of its rotating presidency of the Organ, to be held in the current month, will address in detail the "impact of terrorism on sustainable development".
The document informs that in this regard, Algeria plans to "adopt a Presidential Declaration" at the end of the aforementioned event to contribute and support the efforts of African States in Combating Terrorism with the inclusion of measures related to social and economic development, as well as security.
During his stay in New York, minister Téte António will also participate in a working lunch with members of the UN Security Council to discuss the situation in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and the Luanda Process.
At the same time, the diplomat will hold bilateral meetings with the chairman of the Security Council, Ahmed Attaf, and other counterparts, as well as United Nations entities.
