Lucapa - The Social Renewal Party (PRS)’s candidate for President of the Republic promised this Sunday to implement university centres in the chieft districts of the municipalities of the north-eastern Lunda Norte Province, to prevent brain drain.
Benedito Daniel made this promise in the village of Calonda, Lucapa Municipality, while having a direct contact with voters, as part of the electoral campaign.
He promised to expand technical institutes in all municipalities in Lunda Norte, the expansion of the health network, and rehabilitate secondary and tertiary roads in order to boost agricultural production in Lunda Norte.
In order to generate more jobs and increase sources of income in the region, Benedito Daniel said that he would implement a policy of creating cooperatives for diamond mining, benefiting young people.
The rehabilitation of the structural roads, the implementation of an old-age allowance, the improvement of the retirement pension, are among others issues in the proposed governance programme of the PRS.
The parties contesting the fifth elections are MPLA, UNITA, FNLA, PRS, APN, PHA, PRS and CASA-CE electoral coalition.
For these general elections of 24 August, more than 14.3 million citizens are in the electoral roll, of which 22,560 are Angolans living abroad.
