Menongue - The governor of Cuando Cubango, José Martins, urged political parties and all the members of the local civil society to be more united in their participation in the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of National Independence to be marked in 2025.
The governor made the call during a meeting of the Community Consultation Council with representatives of political parties, traditional authorities, religious bodies, municipal administrators, businesspeople, youth associations, students, among others.
Presenting the program of preparations for the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of National Independence, José Martins said the festivities should serve to unite all Angolans, regardless of party affiliation, religious belief, among other criteria, as they constitute a conquest of the Angolan people from the colonial yoke.
According to the governor, everyone is called upon to give their contribution, their warmth, since this is a celebration of all Angolans from Cabinda to Cunene, of a people who will complete half a century of conquering their independence, which deserves everyone's involvement and commitment, in a sense of national unity.
He added that , in terms of gains, throughout this week and until November 11 2025, various social infrastructures will be inaugurated to benefit the local population, as well as cultural, sporting and other recreational activities, in which everyone is invited to take part. ALK/FF/PLB/DAN/AMP
