Luanda – Angola and Indonesia on Thursday strengthened the bilateral co-operation in the area of Constitutional Justice, with the signing of a memorandum of understanding between both countries’ constitutional courts.
The signing ceremony of the memo happened in Djakarta, Indonesia, on the fringes of an international forum that brings together chief judges of constitutional courts.
On a note, the Angolan Constitutional Court explains that the agreement sets out “the general aspects of the co-operation between the two institutions of constitutional justice”.
As regards the participation of Angola in the international forum of Constitutional Court heads, highlight goes on to the intervention of the Angola Constitutional Court chief.
Laurinda Cardoso stated that the principle of the Primacy of the constitution justifies the idea that the normative acts of the state have to be inspected by the Constitutional court.
She explained that the constitutional jurisdiction also has the role to “analyse whether or not a legislative ac of the Parliament corresponds to that which is called the higher general will”.
The international forum is scheduled to end this Friday (11) and it is being attended by various countries’ delegations.
