Oslo – The Angolan government assured Thursday in Oslo that it will maintain cooperation with Norwegian multinationals, taking into account the economic increase and development of Angola.
The information was made public by the Angolan Head of State, João Lourenço in the beginning of his visit to the Norway´s Aker Solutions company which is devoted towards the manufacture of equipment for the mineral resources, oil and gas industry.
At the time, João Lourenço revealed that Angola intends as well to deepen transfer of knowledge and technologies for Angolan companies that operate in the oil and mining sector.
“We are a developing country. We should be open to these partnerships so that we can also be a developed country in the future”, said the Head of State.
President João Lourenço also defended the need for a successful cooperation that takes into account the training of young Angolans in different domains and levels.
Norway Aker Solutions, with a equipment assembly unit in Viana Municipality (Luanda), entered the Angolan market through a consortium with the AFRICA50 organization.
After receiving explanations linked to the operation of the companies and watching a video about the equipment produced by the company, the Angolan president went on a guided visit to some of the company's service areas.
Visit to Equinor
Still on the first day of his two-day visit to this northern European country, João Lourenço visited the Equinor oil company for more than an hour, touring through service areas and had a meeting with the multinational board.
Norwegian Equinor oil company has the biggest business volume with Angola. It is the company in charge of 10% of oil production in Angola.
Currently Equinor has a shareholding in several oil blocks in Angola.
Following the Thursday programme, the Angolan statesman granted an audience to the representative of Scatec Solar Company that works in installation of photovoltaic, aeolic energy and solar equipment.
Still today, the Angolan Head of State received an official from the Scatec Solar Company, that works in the installation of photovoltaic equipment, eolic and solar energy.
João Lourenço is in Oslo, Norway, since Wednesday, for a two-day working visit, as part of the strengthening of cooperation between the two countries.
