Luanda – Angolan Foreign Affairs Minister Téte António on Saturday reaffirmed the Angolan government's commitment to promote economic diplomacy with the aim to achieve development, sustainability and welfare.

The minister, who was speaking at the opening of the 8th Session of the Joint Commission of Angola and Cape Verde in the city of Praia, underlined that from the economic and commercial point of view the two countries offer great potentialities.

The head of the Angolan diplomacy added that the signing of legal tools and Agreement on Promotion and Reciprocal Protection of Investments between the two countries is expected to take place soon.

Agreement on Air Services, Memorandum of Technical Cooperation between the Angolan Civil Aviation Authority (ANAC) and the Civil Aviation Agency of Cape Verde (AAC) are part of the deals expected to be signed.

The Angolan minister underlined that in the current period "that we can timidly consider post-pandemic of Covid-19", Angola remains committed to the measures to contain the progress of the pandemic.

Relatively to the conflicts that occur in different regions of the planet, he said Angola defends the principle of the resolution of the differences by peaceful means through recourse to the dialogue between the involved parties.

The minister defended a resolution of disputes based on the respect for the rules of International Law under the terms enshrined in the United Nations Charter.

The friendship and cooperation relations between Angola and Cape Verde date back to the beginning of the national liberation struggle of both countries and culminated in the formalization of political and diplomatic relations on August 30, 1977.
