Luanda – Angola national football team coach Pedro Gonçalves on Friday said the squad has improved a lot and expects games of a high degree of difficulty, as happened in the 1-1 draw with Ghana.
Speaking in a post match press conference, the Angolan coach said the first goal conceded forced the team to show resilience.
The coach praised the fact that despite being already qualified, the team played at the maximum limit, as if they were still playing for a place in next year's African Cup of Nations.
“Angola went in search of victory, in a game whose opponents had players from the English Premier League,” the coach said.
The Portuguese coach acknowledged that the team made some mistakes, but that they will do everything they can to improve for the next game against Sudan despite the short time to rest.
Angola qualified unbeaten with 13 points.
Ghana's coach, Otto Addo, on his turn said that he has failed to achieve his goal of winning the match and continue to fight for qualification.
“The dream of qualifying for the CAN in Morocco is dead, so there's nothing left to do,” he lamented.
