Dundo - The Lueji A'nkonde University (ULAN) in Lunda-Norte province has set up a pole that will start operating in December this year, with a special academic calendar.
According to the ULAN vice-rector for academic affairs, Gilberto Nhongola, enrollment to fill the first 150 places on the Portuguese language course has been opened Monday and is due to end on November 27.
Gilberto Nhongola said the entrance exams are scheduled for December 3, followed three days later by the correction and publication of the provisional lists of those admitted, with December 11-13 reserved for enrolment and the opening of the special academic year on December 16.
The 2024/25 academic year in higher education officially opened in October this year.
Gilberto Nhongola stressed that the measure is part of ULAN's program to expand higher education in the province, and that in the future it could include courses in law and economics.
In Lunda-Norte, more than 2,000 students are studying law, economics, biology, primary education, chemistry, math, physics, Portuguese and French this academic year.JVL/HD/DAN/AMP
