Lubango - The Annual Meeting of the Legal Subcommittee of the Central Banks of the Southern African Development Countries (SADC) held in two days, 'behind closed doors', in the city of Lubango, Huíla province, ended Wednesday, as it began, without pronouncements.
The Meeting brought together senior experts and legal experts from the Central Banks of the SADC countries, with the aim of promoting the sharing of experiences in matters of corporate governance, payment systems and other legal matters of common interest, with a view to harmonizing the legislation of financial systems in the sub-Saharan region, in strict compliance with the Strategic Plan 2023-2026.
This plan was approved at the Meeting of the Committee of Governors of the SADC Central Banks, on September 8, 2023, in the Republic of Namibia, the event evaluated the implementation of the strategic actions defined for the four-year period 2023-2026, with emphasis on the independence of Central Banks, term limits and accountability.
It should be noted that the event is organized on a rotating basis, following the decisions defined by the Committee of Governors of the SADC Central Banks (CCBG). JT/MS/DOJ
