Luanda - Angola is to host from October 6 to 8 the 53rd General Assembly of the Airlines Association of Southern Africa (AASA), with focus on the development of commercial aviation in the continent, ANGOP has learnt.
Angolan airlines TAAG is co-organizing with AASA for the first time in the country, which will bring together airlines, regulators, manufacturers, service providers, investors, diplomatic representations and government entities from the civil aviation sector.
The event is a privileged platform for networking and strengthening relations between the industry's players, giving the Angolan aviation ecosystem the opportunity to promote its strength in the international community.
The event reserves a series of conferences and debates between more than 200 delegates and top decision-makers of the aviation industry to discuss issues such as the competitive environment, connectivity and financing.
Panel discussions will also focus on operational costs, regulatory aspects, the supply chain, growth and sustainability of African airlines.
AASA is a regional association that brings together African airlines based in the south of equator and acts as a representative on the Civil Aviation Committee of the Southern African Development Community (SADC).
AASA has 16 airline members, namely TAAG, Air Austral, Air Botswana, Airlink, Air Zimbabwe, Congo Airways, Eswatini Air, Federal Airlines, FlyCobra, FlySafair and LAM-Mozambique Airlines.
It includes LIFT, Mango Airlines, Mozambique Express, Proflight Zambia and South African Airways.
In addition to the airlines, AASA also has 35 associate members from sectors directly or indirectly linked to aviation.
AASA is also a regular participant and contributor to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and International Air Transport Association (IATA) initiatives in the region.OF/AC/AMP
