Luanda - The national team of rhythmic gymnastics, junior and senior, will compete on the 18th and 19th June the African Championship in the Egyptian city of Cairo, ANGOP learnt on Monday in Luanda.
Comprised of three athletes, the group will head to the competition stage on Tuesday, in what is Angola's sixth presence in an event of the kind.
The national team includes gymnast Sofia Higino, from Clube Pim pam, pum de Benguela (champion in the south zone), Aicha Morgado, from Petro de Luanda (winner in the north region) and Luana Gomes, who works at Clube Ginásio Português.
The selection will be technically guided by Cláudia Filho, of Portuguese nationality.
In the last participation, in 2020, also in Egypt, Angola won the bronze medal, after having snatched the silver in 2018 (Egypt).
The national team also won another bronze medal in 2014 and a gold medal in 2012, both events held in South Africa.
