Luanda – Angolan Head of State João Lourenço travelled on Monday to Cairo, Egypt, to participate in the extraordinary summit of the Arab League, as African Union (AU) chairman.
At the 4 de Fevereiro International Airport, the President received farewell greetings from the Vice-President of the Republic, Esperança da Costa.
The meeting, an initiative of Egypt's President Abdel Fatah Al-Sisi, was convened for an assessment of the situation in the Gaza Strip.
The summit, which takes place on Tuesday, will seek to find a joint and coordinated response regarding the immediate future of the Gaza Strip, the Palestinian region that has experienced an intense war and in relation to which there are proposals that have provoked reactions from the Arab world.
Among the proposals, President Donald Trump's to transfer the territory's population to neighboring countries such as Egypt and Jordan stands out.
