Luanda - Angola on Monday, in Luanda, officially handed over the location sketch of the urban plot destined for the construction of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) embassy in the Southern African nation, ANGOP has learnt.
The technical and cartographic document was handed over to the UAE ambassador to Angola, Salem Al Khamis Obeid, by the director general of State Protocol, Isabel de Castro.
The plot was identified by the Angolan government as the ideal location for the new installation of the UAE embassy, which currently operates in another area.
This gesture, says the note, symbolizes the commitment to strengthen bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two countries, and it is planned to sign a reciprocal agreement in the land concessions area.
Diplomatic relations between Angola and the United Arab Emirates were established on 11 December 1997 and have been on an upward trajectory, characterized by diversified bilateral cooperation and the exchange of high-level official visits.
The two countries’ relation has been marked by the implementation of various projects, of which a growing number of UAE businessmen are investing in several Angolan economic fields, such as agriculture, industry, renewable energies and infrastructure, sectors chosen as priorities by the Executive.
An increase in the number of Angolans traveling to the United Arab Emirates to explore business and investment opportunities has increased, in a mutually beneficial exchange that promotes cultural and economic exchange between the two nations. FMA/VIC/TED/AMP
