Dundo – The Criminal Investigation Service (SIC) in Lunda-Norte Province, burned on Wednesday, a two-hectare cannabis cultivation field in the municipality of Xá-muteba.
According to the SIC spokesperson in Lunda-Norte, Graciano Lumanha, the action is the result of a micro-operation carried out by agents of this body, in that municipality, which is more than 500 kilometers off the city of Dundo, Lunda-Norte's capital.
He announced that more than 20k cannabis plants were seized, adding that the operation took place on the banks of the Tunga and Candungo rivers.
He highlighted that the supposed cultivation's owners fled after noticing SIC agents presence.
He assured that investigations are ongoing, aimed at locating and arresting the owners.
