Dundo – The Criminal Investigation Service (SIC) in Lunda-Norte, seized on Wednesday at least 62,770 liters of fuel, for smuggling, in the municipality of Xá-muteba.
The information was provided by the SIC spokesperson in Lunda-Norte, Graciano Lumanhe, highlighting that the fuel was heading to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), where it would be sold.
He made it known that the product was stored in 257 tanks with a capacity of 250 liters each and 80 drums with a capacity of 25 liters each, hidden in a bush.
Graciano Lumanha informed that the alleged criminals fled as soon as they noticed the presence of SIC agents.
He highlighted that during the operation, it was possible to seize a truck used illegally to transport fuel to the DRC.
He reiterated that SIC agents continue to investigate the whereabouts of the smugglers and the seized fuel will be included in the criminal file to be forwarded to the Public Prosecutor's Office.
