Luanda - Music, dance and theatre enlivened the 49th anniversary of the creation of the Angola Press News Agency (ANGOP-E.P), marked Wednesday, 30 October, in the Province of Luanda.
The moment of celebration took place at Palácio de Ferro cultural house, in the presence of the secretary of State for Media, Nuno Caldas.
Musicians Zé Maria Boiote and Caló de Jesus were the first to perform, followed by the theatrical group Julu who, with their unique acting style, paid homage to the professionals of the only news agency in the country.
In a festive atmosphere, ANGOP professionals danced rebita and kabetula dance style to the music of Lurdes Van-Dúnem and África Negra.
After the moment of celebration, musician Miguel Buila took the stage and sang "Massuela", "Oração da minha Mãe" and "Victoria", followed by the group Yaka who danced songs from "Gingas do Maculusso",
Dom Caetano, former ANGOP journalist, also took the stage and made those present to dance the songs "Adeus a hora da largada", "Vizinho" and "Uejia Ki usokana".
The ANGOP’s 49th anniversary celebration ended around 8 pm.
The news agency was created in July 1975, under the name Angola Press National Agency (ANAP).
At first, the Works of the company were distributed in the form of a printed bulletin, until, on October 30th of the same year, its first telegraphic dispatch was launched.
In 1991 it chose to broadcast its work 24 hours a day and also introduced dynamic innovations in editorial and technical plans.
