Talatona - The artist Dionísio Rocha won the 2024 edition of the National Culture and Arts Prize, in the music category, the jury committee announced on Wednesday, in Luanda Province.
The visual and plastic arts category was won by the artist Joaquim Pedro Teixeira, the production company Diamond films won the cinema and audiovisual category, while the choreographer and dance teacher Pedro Vieira Dias won the dance category and in the literature category, Carlos Ferreira was the winner.
In the same vein, the Obama arts collective won the category of theater, humanities and social sciences. Posthumously the jury awarded the human and social sciences prize to Francisco Caetano Manfrano, who won with the work "The Bantus in Manfrano's vision.
Speaking to the press, the chairwoman of the jury, Maria José Ramos, said that the seven award-winning categories were established in Decree 133/17 which approves the current regulations of the National Culture and Arts Prize.
“It was quite hard work, in which the jury held seven plenary and ordinary meetings, in addition to the regular ones, as well as maintaining regular communication throughout, followed by collection and analysis work,” she said.
