Angola is participating from 12th to the 15th of the current month in Harare, Zimbabwe, in the Ordinary Meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Southern African Development Community (SADC), with a delegation led by the Minister of Planning, Victor Guilherme.
The meeting will be running under the motto ““Promoting Innovation to Unlock Opportunities for Sustainable Economic Growth and Development towards an Industrialized SADC”, according to a note from the Ministry of Economy and Planning that ANGOP had access to.
At the event, participants will analyze issues linked to financial situation of the body, the resource mobilization process, degree of implementation of the decisions of the Council of Ministers, and the review of public procurement policies and regulations, as well as subsidy management.
The work agenda also includes addressing the development of the revised communication strategy, awareness and promotion of the organization's image, and application processes for filling vacancies in continental and international organizations.
This meeting of the Ordinary Council of Ministers of SADC was preceded by technical meetings of senior officials of the organization, which analyzed the interleaved implementation of the Regional Indicative Strategic Development Plan (RISDP) 2020-2030, namely the standing committee and the meeting of the finance committee.
In addition to minister Victor Guilherme, the Angolan delegation is also composed of the secretary of State for the Budget, Juciene de Sousa, and the Secretary of State of the Foreign Ministry for International Cooperation and Angolan Communities, Domingos Vieira Lopes.
After the Council of ministers gathering, the Ministerial Partnership Dialogue between SADC and the European Union is scheduled to take place.
