Luanda - The provincial governor of Luanda, Manuel Homem, said Friday in Luanda that sports must be increasingly present in the communities, so that talented athletes continue to emerge.

Speaking to the press at the end of the Provincial Senior Women's Handball Championship which was retained by the 1º de Agosto club, which beat Petro de Luanda, by 31-18, admitted that sports in general are practiced in populated areas, with local incentives.

“We will continue to work with all sectors of sports in the province, so that Luanda continues to be the largest sports venue in the country”, he said.

The 1º de Agosto player, Helena Paulo, was elected the most valuable player (MVP) of the match, after scoring seven goals.

At the closing ceremony, Manuel Homem handed the trophy to the winning team. WR/VAB/MRA/jmc
