Dundo - The Criminal Investigation Service (SIC) on Thursday dismantled an alleged prostitution network in the municipality of Xá-muteba, Luanda-Norte province, during a joint micro-operation with the National Police.
The information was released by the local SIC spokesman, Graciano Lumanhe, who stressed that the group, made up of five Angolan citizens, "recruited" young people in the province of Malanje, in Xamiquelengue and Muxinda (Capenda Camulemba) and Cuango.
According to the SIC spokesman, the alleged promoters were arrested and sent to the magistrate for the appropriate legal proceedings.
Lumanhe said the group was arrested at a residence where they were operating, adding that the alleged prostitutes charged between 15 and 20 thousand kwanzas per sexual act and shared it with the promoters.
He stressed that the dismantling of the network was the result of a tip-off and called on the community to continue to cooperate with the authorities in the fight against crime.JVL/HD/TED/AMP
