Ondjiva - The Director of Cunene's Office for Economic and Integrated Development, Felisberto Hisimungula, called on Thursday in Ondjiva for more agricultural producers to join investment programs related to rural trade in the province.
According to Hisimungula, rural trade is a "pillar of sustainable development", so it is essential that economic agents are committed to its development.
Felisberto Hisimungula highlighted the existence of credit lines to support the national production, logistics and industrialization of rural products, having expressed the desire to see agents more involved in this and other programs aimed at promoting this type of trade in the region.
The official added that the Agricultural Development Support Fund (FADA) has a credit portfolio of 85 billion kwanzas to finance the program to accelerate family farming and strengthen food security.
Felisberto Hisimungula highlighted another loan of 50 million kwanzas to boost the financing of agricultural cooperatives, micro, small and medium enterprises to be allied in rural areas by the Ministry of Industry and Trade to improve the agricultural value chain.
He added that a project is being studied to create warehouses at the municipal level, with components for processing and preserving products, as well as the construction of silos.
The aim is to be integrated as much as possible into the Rural Trade Development Program, a project whose purpose is to create the necessary conditions for visibility between supply and demand, bringing producers and traders closer together. FI/LHE/VC/TED/AMP
